The Bible is God’s Word. That means it was written by God through humans under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (Tim 3:16). The Bible is flawless and without error (Psalm 19:7). It is God’s love letter to His children and is our manual for life. The Bible is alive, active, and should be the most cherished possession of anyone who claims to be a follower of Jesus (Heb 4:12). It’s the only way to truly develop a personal relationship with the one true living God.

The Bible isn’t put together like a normal book. It’s 66 different books, by about 40 different authors, that was written over the course of approximately 1500 years that fits together perfectly. It was originally written in Hebrew and Greek. There are two parts. The Old Testament, which is before the birth of Jesus and the New Testament, which is when Jesus hits the scene. The central theme throughout Scripture is Jesus and God’s plan for salvation.

The Bible is historically accurate. No facts in the Old or New Testament have been proven false. There are over 2000 prophesies in the Bible that have already come true. Each year more and more evidence is discovered to support the Bible’s reliability.

As followers of Christ, it’s vital that we believe the Bible from cover to cover. If God could create the Heavens, the earth, and bring Jesus back from the dead and think it’s reasonable to say that He could put together a perfect book that’s supernaturally powered by the Holy Spirit.

God lives inside the pages of His Word (Rev 19:13). That’s why God says we must meditate on the Scriptures day and night so we’re careful to obey everything in it (Josh 1:8). God knows His power is unleashed in our lives when we make the Bible the ultimate authority in our life. We must memorize Scripture and most importantly have faith it (Heb 11:6). It’s the only way to fend off the enemy and live victorious in our walk with God.

When Jesus was in the wilderness being tempted for 40 days and 40 nights by the devil, He always responded to him with a verse from the Bible. That’s why it’s so important for us to know how the enemy operates and to have the Bible planted deep in our soul so we can stand firm against all of Satan’s schemes. The only way to do that is to be immersed in the Word of God.

The devil will do everything in his power to keep you away from the Bible. He knows that’s where the power of Jesus is. Don’t let Satan sabotage your God given destiny. Feed on God’s Word daily (John 6:51). Apply it to your life. Be a committed soldier in God’s army that saves souls for the Kingdom of God!
